CEREC is the world’s only single visit ceramic dental restoration process. What this means is that in only one visit to our practice you will have a permanent, all ceramic crown, onlay or veneer.
CT Scanner
At Gentle Dental we use CT Scans to produce highly detailed 3D virtual images of your mouth to ensure the best possible placement of your crown or implant. The scan measures the depth, width and density of your jaw bone and helps us pinpoint the exact location of nerve canals and sinus cavities to make your treatment as comfortable as possible.

Owner and head of practice Michael qualified from Queen’s University, Belfast, in 2005 and his career and skills have gone from strength to strength. He began working in private practices in Belfast and Armagh before returning home in 2008 to create Gentle Dental. What once was a humble part-time two surgery practice is now a full-time four surgery accomplishment.
As well as being an active member of the Irish Association of Aesthetic Dentistry, Michael was one of the first dentists in Ireland to offer the Six Month Smiles Inman Aligner and Invisalign treatments and has studied new techniques in Germany, Spain and England. He also travels frequently to various conferences around the world to learn about new and developing treatments and procedures.
Michael is a forward thinking and a keen study of the latest advances and techniques. In this digital age of dentistry he uses state-of-the-art technology to design and manufacture veneers, implants and crown on-site- usually within a few short hours. This is made possible by his investment in a Sirona CBCT scanner and a Premium CEREC one-day tooth restoration treatment- one of the very few practices in Ireland to offer this service.
He is also our in-house specialist in digital smile design and, by using a series of highly detailed 3D images and videos, Michael can create a preview of your potential smile without ever having to touch a tooth.

After her 2009 graduation from Queen’s University, Suzanne completed her vocation training as an associate in Belfast before moving to Singapore. In 2013 she returned home and joined the Gentle Dental team. Her enthusiasm and desire to learn the most cutting-edge technologies lead her to complete further training in 2014-15 in restorative dentistry with Dr. Tidu Mankoo. Like all of our team members, Suzanne attends regular training and is fully up-to-date with all CPD requirements.

As a 1984 Queen’s University graduate, Doreen has acquired an impressive amount of experience. Before going into General Practice, she spent a year as a houseman in the Dental Hospital before joining a practice in Antrim where she spent 5 years.
Her career then took her to Kilkeel, Castlewellan and Newcastle before joining Ian Roche’s practice in 1992- which became Gentle Dental in 2008. Doreen enjoys all aspects of general dental practice and continues to update her skills by taking courses regularly.

Surgeons and continues to improve his skills by studying the latest advances in modern
dentistry techniques, with a strong focus on orthodontics and aesthetic dentistry.

Cathy qualified with a Diploma in Dental Hygiene from the School of Dentistry at Queen’s University, Belfast. Her enthusiasm for patient care compliments her extensive experience in preventing and treating gum disease. Cathy also plays a key role in providing personalised oral health plans to maintain the best standards of hygiene and in the application of sealants on children’s teeth to help prevent early decay. When not making her patients happy, Cathy can be found exercising or socialising with friends and family in the Annalong area where she lives.
As a qualified dental nurse with a longstanding interest in dentistry, our Business Development Director Colleen is responsible for coordinating our growing team and ensuring all training in continuing professional development and specialist training on service standards is met and up to date.
She regularly attends the British Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Conference to help us maintain our high standards of quality dentistry and exceptional patient service delivered by a well trained and caring team.
Our Practice Manager Deborah is our hands-on professional patient experience expert.
Deborah checks and double checks to ensure we are consistently delivering the highest possible standards and that they are maintained at all times, consistent with the core values of our practice.
She juggles the day to day affairs of our busy practice and coordinates the exceptional service you will experience each time you visit us, yet still manages to find the time for a cheerful smile for everyone!
Having worked at Gentle Dental since the very beginning, Carol leads our exceptionally talented nursing team.
Having worked for more than 20 years in the dental nursing field, she has a wealth of knowledge and experience that never fails to inspire her team to deliver above and beyond even her rigorous and highly professional standards.
